May Day voices: memories of learning at TUTA

What is union training all about? When is it most powerful?

Tune in to 3CR Community Radio’s Breakfast Show at 8 am on Monday 1 May 2023 to hear the voices of people remembering what they got out of courses run by TUTA, Australia’s unique, fully government-funded union training body (1975-1996).

This audio story draws on excerpts of interviews we recorded in 2020-21 as part of the research project ‘Trade Union Training: Reshaping the Australian Industrial Landscape’.

We look forward to sharing more audio stories in future about TUTA, its origins, history and legacy. Stay tuned…

UPDATE: if you missed the live broadcast, the Monday Breakfast program is available on the 3CR website here: https://find.slv.vic.gov.au/permalink/61SLV_INST/1tpraef/alma9912565923607636 – fast forward to 1:03:29 to hear the stories and voices of TUTA course participants.
